Labor Standards investigates, enforces, and issues rules and guidance on labor laws such as:
- wages & hours (minimum, overtime, deductions, etc.);
- health-related leave and whistleblowing;
- pay and promotion transparency, and limits on screening applicants;
- union-management relations (elections and certain grievances); and
- certain work conditions (for minors, in agriculture, etc.).

*On December 16, 2025, the City of Edgewater City Council passed Ordinance 2025-23 to increase the City’s tip offset to $4.67 per hour in 2026, as authorized by House Bill 25-1208. The result of this vote is that Edgewater’s tipped minimum wage in 2026 is $13.50.
