After filing your claim you should:

 Manage your claim in MyUI+

Once you have filed your claim you will be able to:

  • See your claim status
  • Request payments weekly
  • Manage your information
  • Respond to communications from CDLE

If you receive a notification that you have received a communication from CDLE, you can access it in MyUI+. To receive notifications, always log in to MyUI+ and navigate to the “View Correspondences” tab on the left side of the screen.

Register with your local Workforce Center through ConnectingColorado

You must confirm you are looking for work by registering online with ConnectingColorado.gov. You must register online within seven calendar days of filing your claim. Until your registration as a job seeker in ConnectingColorado.gov is complete, you will not be eligible for benefits.

To register, go to ConnectingColorado and click “Register As a Job Seeker” on the main page. Follow the instructions to complete registration, indicating that your registration (or updated registration) is the result of a UI claim. You must register with your Social Security number when you register with Connecting Colorado. If you do not register with your SSN, your registration will not be connected to your Unemployment Insurance claim.

If you need assistance with your registration, you can visit your nearest Workforce Center.

Complete your weekly Work Search Activities Every Week

You are required to complete work search activities weekly while collecting UI benefits. Work search activities include:

  • Submitting applications for work which you are reasonably qualified
  • Uploading resumes to online job boards
  • Completing skills-assessments for positions for which you are reasonably qualified
  • Interviewing for new roles, and more

Make sure to record dates on which you completed work search activities so you can report them in your weekly payment request. For more information on work-search activities, visit our Work Search Activities page.

Federal employees who are separated due to the government shutdown are considered job-attached and will not be required to conduct a job search during the furlough. Select yes to any question asking if you are job-attached.

 Report any income received

When you request payment, you will be asked to report any income earned within the week for which you are requesting payment. You are able to collect up to 50% of your benefit amount without impacting your benefit amount. When you report earnings for the week, report your gross earnings—the total amount you earned prior to any deductions (taxes, child support, etc.). You will also need to report the location and number of hours worked.
