According to the survey of households, Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell two-tenths of a percentage point in August to 5.9 percent. This marks the first time since March 2020 that the state’s unemployment rate has been below six percent. The national unemployment rate also declined by two-tenths of a percentage point to 5.2 percent.

In recognition of the critical role workforce development services play in advancing Colorado’s economic recovery in the wake of the pandemic, Governor Jared Polis signed a proclamation declaring September Workforce Development Month. The signing follows the passing of 53 bills to support Colorado’s recovery as part of its Colorado Comeback.

First quarter 2021 Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) results indicate Colorado total nonfarm payroll jobs estimates will be revised up for this period with the release of benchmarked estimates in March 2022.

Coloradans entering registered apprenticeship programs are now eligible to receive up to $500 scholarship through an exciting partnership with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) and the state’s workforce system.

(DENVER) — The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported 3,317 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending July 24th — the lowest number of initial claims filed in a single week since the start of the pandemic. There were also 1,119 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) claims filed for the same week.

(DENVER) — In order to better safeguard Colorado unemployment claimants against scams and other attempts to compromise their accounts, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) is implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) as part of the MyUI+ login process. MyUI+ is the state’s new, modernized online portal used to file unemployment insurance claims that was launched in January of this year.
