(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 10,268 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending March 27th. There were also 1,747 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 891,429 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,152,970 claims, when the PUA program is included.*

According to the survey of households, Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged in February at 6.6 percent. The national unemployment rate declined one-tenth of a percentage point from January to 6.2 percent.

There were also 1,922 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 881,161 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,140,955 claims, when the PUA program is included.*

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 11,633 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending March 13th. There were also 1,473 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 869,593 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,127,465 claims, when the PUA program is included.*

According to the survey of households, Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased in January to 6.6 percent from the revised December rate of 6.9 percent. The national unemployment rate dropped by four-tenths of a percentage point from December to 6.3 percent. 

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) announced there will likely be no gap in payments for Coloradans receiving federal unemployment benefits thanks to the passage of the American Rescue Plan as long as President Biden signs the bill by Friday, March 12, 2021. CDLE is still working to evaluate the impact of the legislation on all claimant populations but anticipates no gap in benefits for most claimants. The new legislation extends the federal unemployment assistance programs another 29 weeks. The current extension provided by the Continued Assistance Act expires this Saturday, March 13. The American Rescue Plan extends a number of federal pandemic benefit programs including Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC), supplemental payments of $300 per week for anyone receiving unemployment benefits, through the week ending September 4th.

(DENVER) -- Together with law enforcement agencies and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE), Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser announced today the creation of the Colorado Unemployment Fraud Task Force. The joint task force will investigate and prosecute those who have committed identity theft, and used that information to commit fraud against the state of Colorado and the unemployment insurance system. 

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 13,034 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending February 27th. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 846,016 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed. There were also 9,916 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the week ending February 27th.* (Note: PUA initial claim figures for last week include new and reopened claims tied to the Phase 2 rollout).

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) unveiled its new online dashboard at uidailydashboard.cdle.co. The dashboard will be updated daily Monday through Friday with data points including the number of claimants paid via its new MyUI+ system, the amount of benefits being paid out, call center workloads and the number of integrity holds released through ID.me. The dashboard also includes a list of ongoing and forthcoming upgrades to the system and outlines common scenarios claimants are experiencing and next steps to take.
