(DENVER) -- Third quarter 2020 Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) results indicate Colorado total nonfarm payroll jobs estimates will be revised down for this period with the release of benchmarked estimates in March 2021. September 2020 estimates are expected to be revised down by about 30,300 nonfarm payroll jobs. July and August 2020 estimates are expected to be revised down by about 19,100 and 33,200 nonfarm payroll jobs, respectively.

(DENVER) -- Colorado Workforce Center in partnership with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) will host a virtual job fair on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. The job fair will be free for all Coloradans and can be accessed from any mobile device. Job seekers can also visit their local workforce center for help getting connected virtually. Nearly 400 businesses including Amazon, Centura Health and Waffle House have already signed up to participate.

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) announced that since deploying Phase 2 of the Continued Assistance Act (CAA) on February 20th, it has paid more than $206 million to more than 130,000 people. Phase 2 allowed claimants to reopen and file new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) claims.

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) announced it will begin rolling out Phase 2 of the extended pandemic benefits provided by the Continued Assistance Act (CAA) on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Phase 2 will allow claimants who exhausted the balance of their federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) claims on or before December 26, 2020 to receive an additional 11 weeks of benefits as of December 27, 2020. Phase 2 will also include the ability to file new PUA and PEUC claims. Phase 1 of the program began rolling out at the end of January to claimants who still had existing balances on their PUA and PEUC claims as of December 26, 2020.

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 12,151 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending February 13th. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 818,005 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed. There were also 8,000 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the week ending February 13th. (Note: These are reopened claims after a break in weekly continued claim filings, not new PUA claims.) 

Colorado’s job seekers who have been affected by the pandemic can now take advantage of two Disaster Recovery grants: COResponds and RecoverCO.

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 14,018 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending February 6th. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 805,854 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed. With the Phase 1 rollout, there were 30,295 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the week ending February 6th.* 

(DENVER) – Today, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) announced a three-week campaign to help Colorado’s unemployed workers return to work with virtual hiring events, workshops, job search support and more. Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on Colorado’s workforce, with more than 270,000 people receiving unemployment benefits. This statewide initiative is aimed at helping our state’s workers return to work and our state’s employers fill critical vacancies as the State changes restrictions on the Covid-19 dial.

Phase 2 will allow most claimants who exhausted the balance of their federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) claims on or before December 26, 2020. Phase 2 will also include the ability to file new PUA and PEUC claims.  Phase 1 of the program began rolling out last week to claimants who still had existing balances on their PUA and PEUC claims on December 26, 2020. Since February 1, more than 104,000 people have received over $166 million in benefits as part of Phase 1.
